Transaction Manager Databases
Starting Databases
Transaction Manager includes a set of pre-packaged Database documents that are used to monitor Transaction Manager data. In order to generate reports for Transaction Manager, these databases will need to be started on the Monitoring Server.
Database Name | Wrapping Interval | Maximum Size |
ATM Transaction DB | 65 days | 1000 MB |
ATM RealTime DB | 1 day | 100 MB |
ATM Profitablity DB | 65 days | 1000 MB |
POS Transaction DB | 65 days | 1000 MB |
POS RealTime DB | 1 day | 100 MB |
POS Profitablity DB | 65 days | 1000 MB |
Each Database can be started from either the Web Application or the Windows Client.
Web Application | Open the Web Application - Administration Tool. In the navigation panel click on the required Monitoring Server and then go to the Databases section in the main panel. This section will show if the Database is currently running or not. If it is not running select the Start New button which will open a Database list. From the list scroll down to the required Database name, click the adjacent radio button and then go to the end of the list and click the Start button. Wait until a prompt is displayed saying 'Database started successfully' and then click the OK button. |
Windows Client | Expand the following folder path in the Document Navigator: Knowledge → Transact → Configuration Locate the required database documents and then drag them down to the required server in the Node Navigator panel underneath. |
Starting the Database Summaries
In addition, database summarization is utilised by the Web UI Online Reports. As the online reports use the pre-packaged database summarizations, these databases need to be started on the Management Server.
To start the Database Summaries, run the following commands on the Management Server.
Add ATM Summaries
Add POS Summaries
To run these commands, open the Windows Client and expand the following folder path in the Document Navigator:
Knowledge → Transact → Configuration
Locate the required command document and then drag it onto the managing server in the Node Navigator panel underneath. When doing this, a prompt form will be presented asking for two values.
- The first of these is the source node, that being the node on which the source database exists.
- The second one is the node on which the summarised data will be stored.
These are the monitoring and managing nodes, respectively. For example, \NONSTOP and \WINDOWSMGR.
